the States is one of the wealthiest nations on earth with having a high inequality than other industrialized country. Inequality exists in income, wealth, power and education. Persons who are leg solelyy and socially poor in the United put ups tend to stay in a cycle through life, not continuously by choice but because they are given fewer opportunities, education and tools to achieve success. Poverty class has a much larger income gap than the fastness class, the American Dream is lessens through opportunity and is shown through statistics. Inequality exist and is high in America because the amount of income and wealth that is distributed through power. In America the income distribution is very inequality and the value of a person wealth is based on their income with their debts subtracted. As of 2007, the top 1% of households (the upper class) owned 34.6% of all privately held wealth, and the 19% (the managerial, professional, and small business stratum) had 50.5 %, which means that just 20% of the people owned a remarkable 85%, leaving only 15% of the wealth for the bottom 80% (wage and salary workers) (Domhoff, 2011). In contrary the poor do not get ahead and the rich get more. Americans are judged and position in class categories through their home ownership which translates to wealth. Americans social class is often associated with their assets and wealth. People seek to own property, to have high incomes, to have interest and safe jobs, to enjoy the finest in travel and leisure, and to live long and healthy lives (Domhoff, 2011). Power indicates how these values are not distributed equally in American society. immense gains for the rich include cuts in capital gains and dividends and when tax rates decrease for the tiny percent of Americans income is redistributed. Taxes directly affect the wealth and income of Americans every year. For most Americans, the sound out poverty suggests destitution an inability to provide a fam ily with nutritious food, clothing, and reasonable shelter (Rector, 2007). Poverty can be socially defined through unsafe deprivation of education, food, safe water, sanitation, and health care regardless of ones income. The U.S. Department of Health and human Services periodically updates poverty guidelines and depending on what state you live in the guidelines range.

Who was Cain and what led him to be a brother-slayer? In my essay, I shall tell the tragic story of two brothers and how their brotherhood ends in utter destruction. This story shows how just wiz ounce of jealousy can micturate cold-blooded murder. Cain was indeed the cause of his brothers brutal murder.The story of Cain comes from the Old Testament in the Bible. Adams wife, Eve, becomes pregnant and has her first child, who is truly insincere, selfish, and later on, commits the ultimate taboo he murders his own flesh and blood. This childs name is Cain. Some time later, she gives birth to another son, Abel, who, unlike Cain, is very genuine, selfless and who can never think of hurting someone, let alone murdering him. When the two children grow up, Cain is a farmer, and Abel is a shepherd. They are both asked by their parents to give offerings to the Lord whenever possible, but only without any expectation or selfish desire in return. It is not possible for Cain to be so selfless and kind. One day, Cain brings some of his leftover harvest as an offering to the Lord, whereas Abel brings one of his first lambs born to his sheep, kills it, and gives it to the Lord as a sacrificial offering. My Family A SubcultureEveryone in the world belongs to a subculture. Each subculture has its own sets of traditions, relics, and artifacts. Relics and artifacts are symbolic, material possessions important to ones subculture. Relics are from the past artifacts are from the present. These traditions, relics, and artifacts wait on shape the personalities of individuals and how they relate with others. Individuals know almost these items through storytelling in the subculture. Families are good examples of subcultures. My family, a middle-class suburban Detroit family of Eastern European heritage, has helped shape who I am through story telling about traditions, artifacts, and relics. Throughout my life, Ive heard many different stories about my family. Because of these stories, I know about my background, and they have helped salmagundi my identity. Randall Bass, professor of English at Georgetown University, agrees that stories help shape peoples identities. Bass states that, Indiv iduals derive their sense of identity from their culture, and cultures are systems of belief that determine how people live their lives (Bass 1). pagan stories about family history, religion, nationality, and heritage help influence peoples behavior and beliefs. Identities of different people come from their cultures. Story telling begins at home. Stories help connect people to their systems of beliefs. They sculpt peoples lives by giving them a model of how to live. People receive their earliest knowledge from different stories.(Bass) One great story my family has told me is my familys history. My maternal grandmothers parents came to the United States from Ukraine by boat around 1906 or 1907. They initially settled in Export, PA, because they had relatives and friends living there. My grandmother was born in 1921 and was the seventh of eight children. A year afterward she was born, they moved to Warren, OH, where they stayed until my grandmother graduated from high school. The familys religion was Ukrainian Orthodox. My grandmother grew up speaking Ukrainian and English. Ukrainian was mouth in the home, and English was spoken at school. My grandmother started kindergarten at the age five knowing no English. She picked up the English language from her classmates. My grandmothers family did not own a car. Every Easter, they walked about seven miles to go to church. My grandmother grew up during the depression. She was the only girl in her family to own a doll from a store. All of her sisters dolls were homemade.
